Day 21: Do you knit gifts for friends and family for the holidays or birthdays?

Yes! In fact most of the things I make over the course of a year end up wrapped as gifts, I don’t buy any gifts at all if i can help it and the ones that I do buy tend to be second hand. I find that people appreciate my gifts because it has clearly taken time and thought rather than just picking up some chocolates of purfume or something else equally cliche.

Day 20: Do you knit in public? Was anyone offended/incredibly happy/curious that you were doing so?

If i’m ever in a situation that involves sitting around for a while in public there will usually be some knitting in my hands. I think you’d have to be pretty crazy to be offended by somebody knitting but I did experience a few mocking comments back when i was in school. Generally now people are either interested in what i’m making or just amazed at something that’s alien to them. I know that when I see people knitting it cheers me up so I like to think I do the same for others.

Day 19: Do you watch movies and/or listen to podcasts while knitting? What are your favorite things to knit to?

Of course, all the time. It often depends on what it is i’m knitting, if it’s something simple I particularly enjoy a good movie or a nature documentary :P If i’m making anything more complicated i’ll just have some music or the radio or perhaps some sitcom i’ve seen a million times anyway on in the background. If I have the radio on it’s almost always BBC 6 Music
